Dell Latitude E6510 for example. I buys stacks of them dirt cheap without hard drives and most have Win7 COA's. I install genuine dell windows 7 pro, then run the update direct from a thumb drive which I used a media creation tool.
Once in windows it would connect,and it would activate, I would never need to type the windows 7 key from the laptop sticker anywhere.
Now this is no longer working. Win10 installs but it will not activate. I am now forced to type the windows 7 key in. This is not a problem however I am wondering why the change.
It could be a problem on those laptops that the COA has faded out, (which does happen).
