No more treating my body like sh#t

Finally got sick of it...and I'm gunna change for the better. I abused my body too much in the past which I shouldn't. Everything is related, so your body is part of your mind or whatever you wanna say. The way you treat your body includes your mind, as your a physical being (religious or not you can't dispute that)

So... things on to do list:
1. Healthier eating -- more vegetables and lean beef, poultry and pork. Body needs nutrients first and foremost. Less sugary and carbohydrate rich junk. Its mostly the time side of things for this..preparing healthy stuff takes time!
2. Cutting caffeine down by 90% because I drink around 30 cans of soda a week. Caffeine is starting to have weird effects on me. I feel my heart goes "bubbily" and beats funny sometimes plus it kinda hurts from time to time. Doc says nothing is wrong with me. And I have huge burnout without my caffeine so I'll bite the bullet and go through withdrawl of it.
3. Stop cracking knuckles (heard this can lead to arthritis?)
4. Proper posture while sitting... no more slumping (my back hurts)
5. Regular chiropractic visits (to correct back)
6. 1/2 hour intense cardio activity a day for general well being
7. Lose 40-50 pounds...its starting to become a nuisance on my back pulling it so much.
8. Ginseng? Anyone here recommend it? I tried it before, but wasn't on it constantly so perhaps thats why I didn't notice anything.
9. Regular relaxation crap like using sauna and hot tub (just to unwind stress)
10. Get back into sports couple times a week. I'm thinking golf for the summer and skiing for the winter?
11. REGULAR SLEEP PATTERN. Not just right number of hours, but all within a schedule so that I sleep same time every day. I heard about sleep debts and stuff, anyone care to expand that? I'm going to try for minimal 7 hours nightly for at least a month. I seem groggy after 7 even, so perhaps 8 is best.

Any more recommendations on how to better treat your body??? I really wanna last long. All this cancer and crazy crap around me is scary. Work part time in a hospital and it really made me think after seeing so many sick people.

Baby steps. Too much at once will burn you out.

Small goals, meet them, move on. Or you'll get discouraged when unrealistic expectations can't be met.

Guinness at least. Few times a week with dinner.

Did you know its one of the lowest caloric drinks and has large amount of Iron?

If you were a woman that might matter. Too bad you're just a male alcoholic.

Naw

Usually only 2 with a nice dinner.

I never drink more than 4 Guinness at a time so I wouldn't consider it alcoholism :p

A lot of those sounds great man. If you drop the soda and start eating healthier, dropping 40-50 pounds will be a lot easier. 30 cans? goddamn man, that's insane.

Uhh, no, beer is very calorically dense any which way you put it. Two beers a day, five days a week is about 1500 calories a week. Not only that, but it acts as a depressant, which slows down your metabolism as well as robs your body of water, and is in general bad for your liver, even if its two a day...

See above, I said "few times" a week meaning 3.

Anyhow, gotta have some fun.

Baby steps are for people that have no will power.

With that said, do something small first. Like stop the knuckle cracking:D

Also, buy this Book.

you won't get arthritis if you crack your knuckles, common myth.

That's one off the list! Unless you want to stop out of courtesy for those around you.

I play golf, it's a fun (and expensive) sport to get into. It's probably not the best to get in shape though, unless you play frequently and never drive a cart, it's not a stressful sport on the body. My main problem is keeping my mental game tough for 5+ hours.

5. Regular chiropractic visits (to correct back)

Just a note on this one-
I've heard that chiropracic clinics dont actually FIX anything...they crack u a lot and thats it. Basically it keeps u coming back for more. They wont fix anything. You'll feel great as u leave and then a week later u'll need to go back.

Go to a doctor (chiropractors are not doctors) that specialize in backs. I cant think of the title of them...somthing like orthopedics i think. They will tell u how to actually fix it (give u exercises and stretches and what not), as well as crack up a bunch and make u feel good =)

Nah, in college I could polish off a 12er of soda in 5 days. That's 12 12-packs.
