I saw a note over at a site going into detail and it reminded me of what AMD told us at Comdex a week ago, and actually I should have my ass kicked for not passing this along.

AMD is no longer producing any CPUs for sale that are anything but TBred B cores. It will take a while for all the old stock to work through the channel, but there are no more A cores being produced.

yep, was just about to post that. Unfortunately, it will be a long time before those Tbred B 1700+ and up cpus start filtering down into the retail channels. But I guess I can wait.
