I have been instructed that I have a computer addiction, my theripist says that I need to take a Detox break, and says 3 1/2 months aught to do the trick, I concour, Rock will still continue, and I will stop by to update you on our progress and look for more donations, just wont be in my normal street cloths around the boards if you will. you are all so great and thats why the box is not being turned off just relocated for the next 3 months, to a nice cold room 🙂 and doing nothing but crack, wile I lay in bed with the shivers from my withdraw...this is a big stepping stone for me, it is not your fault. Rock still needs you, and I will still be apart of that, my shrink says that is ok.

I will still check my E-mail so you can E-mail me, and I will still check my PM's so if you need me get ahold of me 🙂

God Speed Narzy. I think most of us here suffer from some form of addiction. I myself have been thinking about taking some 'real' time off as well, not the day or so I've done in the past. Not quite there yet, but getting close.

I dont have much of a choice my mom is bent on this pain therOW!ipy thing she is smacking me upside the head with the back end of her high heal!. its not a question of weather I feel up to it, its a question of when I have overcome the addiction, ever hear the phrase once an addict always an addict, its true, you just have to teach yourself to control the earge.

Addictions are life long Narzy....The best anyone can do is to control them. But addictions are like scars - they're keepers for life.

You don't have an addiction - you have a hobby - and in a couple of years, an avocation.

Funny how computer geeks make more than doctors anyway.

Narzy, these paths are set before you... 😉 You have to decide what your objectives in life are, guessing that you are in HS, I realize that sometimes the future is just a cloud bank and the best course is usually enhancing your education. You have the ability to modify your own behavior to fit the path you choose to pursue, following the path some therapist perceives as best but conflicts with your own chosen destiny is foolhardy and will likely lead to depression/rebellion and even more dependence on a therapist. Most therapists are just ordinary people with some training in psychology, they have no basis or experience for dictating your life in this technological society.

As long as it's your choice, good luck.

Good luck Narzy. We'll all be here for you when you get back. I went though a similar experience when I was in HS. Only with me it was withdrawing from school and not my computer. I know you probably won't be able to read this but if you do take the time to get things straightened out. In the end you'll be happy this happened. I know if I hadn't taken my 3.5 month break 6 years ago I probably won't be here and able posting here. :Q
