my 56k connection is so fast..

I was downloading AIM and i was getting constant 7.6kb down speed..

I'm totally amazed.. ( im on msn dial-up )

I remember months and months ago.. I couldn't get past 4.4kb now it has improved so much..

I think it's everyone going broadband...


btw... i'm usually on cable modem.. i just got tired of sitting at the desk..
my router is coming tomorrow so i wont be on this dreadful thing any longer

believe it or not.... once i downloaded on an Actiontec modem at 15k.... it was a 5MB file....honest

well that's what my download box is telling me.. so what do u want me to say ??

i'm using a built in modem on my lappy .. Toshiba AMR or something..

it sounds crappy when it connects but it's pretty fast ..

yeah, I've seen modems transfer at some pretty teriffic speeds. If all the conditions are right (close to the telco) and with compression I'm sure it could happen. Your not supposed to be able to do 10/100 over cat 3 cable but i do it all the time. Your probably sitting on an ATM backbone and don't even know it. You should get DSL or Cable if you are that close. I live only .9 m from my telco and get amazing speeds.

I do have cable.. but it's only on my desktop right now..

I have a router coming from tiger direct... tomorrow hopefully.

then i'll be back on cable again..

the only reason why i'm on my laptop is that it's cold .. and i usually compute in my boxers..

that is awesome man boy dont i wish i get that speed.i get constant 5.3 with my usr,but 7.6 man what i would do for that besides spending money for cable (poor man here)

I pay 34.99 for road runner with them giving me the modem for free..

it's part of the service agreement ( no contract )

I do however get digital cable service from them..

if i didn't get digital cable.. the fee would be 39.99

if i didn't get any cable service i think it's something like 54.99

Make the cable pay for itself. What I mean is, get a wireless 802.11b router and sell broadband to your neighbors. Mine is going to pay me $25 a month and a couple of others are thinking about it. They are all non tech people and won't be online when I ussually am anyway. Just a thought, give it a try.
