No More Iomega Zip Drives

Iomega has been grasping at straws for as long as I can remember. After being burned by them for several thousand dollars worth of Zip and Jaz drives with the "click of death" bug, I promised myself never again to give them my business.

Good riddance... I remember I bought one of their external 4X CD burners... What a nightmare. I will never buy something from them again.
Tas.

Yep, Zip drives were really strong about 3 years ago at most colleges. Easy enough to carry in the back pocket. Pretty durable. The "click of death" was a long, long time ago.

At one point, I had everything I did in school (high school and college) stored on a single Zip disk...I used to love my SCSI Zip drive.

Now my DVD burner eats Zip disks for lunch. 🙂

My original SCSI internal ZIP died just last year. I think I bought it in....96? I had to buy a USB external so I could rescue the data on my dozen or so disks (and I haven't used it since).

Iomega is a perfect example of a company that rode a good idea into the ground and then stood motionless while the world moved away.

i still have my zip drive on my old comp, and they made my first cd burner, which still works..i"m sad to see em go, i always liked their products
