No more hair for me

After years of having hair past my shoulders, I finally cut it all off. I'm joining the army in a month and a half (IAF = w00t!), and I decided I have to adjust to having short hair.

It feels really strange... Most people say it looks good, but I can hardly recognise myself. I hope I get used to it soon.

I surprised everyone - didn't even tell my parents I was getting my hair cut. Got some very interesting reactions from all my friends and family ;).

Might post before and after pics soon...

Anyone care to share similar experiences?

Not bald just yet, that would be too much of a shock ;)

Short and spiky, starting to look cool :)

Short and spikey does look cool, but it really depends on what kind of hair you have and how it looks on the person. Some people look BETTER with longer hair. Some people look much worse with longer hair and need to keep it short. For instance, my hair is pretty fine/thin, so letting it grow out doesn't look very good on me. Keeping it short and spiking it/leaving it be just looks best. Cleancut = the way to go. Some people who have thicker hair though, sometimes looks better longer.

But if you're going to the army, then... yeah, short hair. :p

good luck!

I had hair down to the middle of my back from the age of 14 thru 26. One day I just went to the barber and had it chopped off. The first stylist wouldn't even do it. She said people always regret it after its done. lol (Actually she was looking for a way of hitting on me, we ended up dating for a couple months :) )
Everyone flipped when they saw me. I looked completely different. My mom hated it but for the most part everyone liked it?

I've got pretty thick, dark hair. It looks pretty good when short, but it was also very nice when long. In a few weeks I'll visit the hairdresser again and go for the 'cleancut' before the army.
