Hi,
I recently had my Chaintech Nvidia Ge-force 6600GT AGP 256mb card (TV out) replaced under warranty with a inno3D Nvidia Ge-force 6600GT AGP 256mb (TV out)
Im quite confused?
The chaintech one had a molex connector for PSU plug in, this new one does not have any molex connectors and seems to just run of the AGP slot on the motherboard?? The only pin connection on the card is a small connector for the fan? (which is working)
I have read around and have not come across any sites that mention this? My PC keeps crashing when I play Medal of Honor spearhead (not a very intensive game compared to games around now) I get the black screen/looped sound problem randomly (5mins-1hr).
Seems that my card is overheating because not enough power is getting to the card...here are my specs.
Thermaltake Armor VA8000 SWA
INTEL PENTIUM 4 560 3.6GHZ 800mhz FSB/HTT/1MB
2048 MB DDR400 PC3200 (2x1GB)
ASUS P5P800: DUAL DDR, S-ATA, 8X AGP, 5 PCI, ATA133 ETC
SATA 250 GB HARD DISK @ 7200rpm 16mb cache
256MB GEFORCE 6600 8X AGP + DVI + TV-OUT
SoundBlaster Audigy 4 7.1 Pro + External Kit (breakout box)
PSU EZcool super silent switching mode PSU ATX 550w JSP (socket 775)

Any help would be appreciated as I think I'm damaging my PC by running this card like this...do I send it back and ask for one with molex connectors or is there a work around?
thanks

i'm kinda of confused...are you sure that you have a 6600GT and not a 6600 ? only the 6600 doesn't require molex a connector.

Hmm....it seems by those pictures that it is infact a 6600?? The drivers that came with the replacement card are GT, my nvidia display properties say 6600GT?? What the hell?
So they have snooped my GT card with a 6600 with GT drivers...I wondered why it looked different and had no molex, just thought it was slightly different design from another company (chaintech/inno3D)
Could this be causing the crashes and overheating? Drivers?
oh by the way nextman...I dont like peanut butter

:) it might be that they done this somehow, however its highly unlikely. I would just call customer service and ask whatsup? I mean if they cant fix your problems, theyll give you an RMA anyways.

true...some do , and some don't, but a 6600gt defintely requires one, so the OP may have recieved the wrong card.
