NO media player working

None of them work...they ALL crash when trying to open a file WMP, Media Player Classic, Nero Showtime, Creative MediaSource Player. It doesn't matter what file I try and open, every video file crashes every player.

I tried system restore, and was not able to go back at all using it. I just ran Acronis yesterday, so I can use my secondary drive as boot, but I'm curious as to why they're ALL crashing.

Virus and spyware scans = yes

what type of file is it? if they are all crashing it might be related to the audio or video codec that the file is using. you can also try vlc to see if it plays.

.avi, .wmv, MP4...all of them. I have the latest codecs from k-lite, but I forgot about VLC. I'll download it and install it real quick before I go to work. Thanks for the suggestion of VLC
