My love affair that has lasted well over a decade. My Oxford White 67 Mustang is what inspired my screen names for some forums. A reluctant beast that only roared its loudest when prodded. A showy and mouthy hard to love soul with enough charm to warrant buckets of money.
My brief appearances in street racing were behind the wheel of this car. A friendly scene that always started by hovering over cups of coffee and card games.
I have much to thank it for. I learned how to drive long distances, how to jury rig roadside fixes, and how to maintain cars with my hands and tools. I also quickly had to learn how to control a RWD vehicle in inclement weather with no driver aids.
Many stories with many friends and dates have that Mustang as a plot device.
I made a lifestyle change a few years back, and I saw this day coming.
I set out to be a minimalist in all things. It had to go for many reasons.
All is okay though. It's in the hands of the most competent engine builder you have never heard of. A recluse man that is crafty and evil. By the racing gods, hell be wrought upon those who dare challenge it.
It will be auctioned off in a charity event. Proceeds, almost every penny, will go to a local fund helping crippled children.
We will have about 3-4 men, excellent in their respective trades pouring over it to volunteer in this effort to help.
Long live the Mustang.
