Your right. Subjecting young adults to the horrors of combat stress, killing another human being, being away from family and friends, and constantly in danger couldn't possibly contribute more then a "poor upbringing."
People kill themselves all the time. Makes it hard to believe that the horrors of combat is the causative agent at work here.

Being away from your loved ones for 14 months is bad enough. I don't know anyone that comes back and is completely normal.
