THis is on private property so if you want to put up an algerbraic speed limit sign in your driveway you are free to do so.

They seem to be working, even though they are not enforceable by police officers when they are on private property.

IIRC, people tend to go to the next factor of 5. 17.5 means 20. If they posted 20, people would do 25.

Also worth noting that Colorado is home to Grand Junction... a town that has fractional numbers as street names i.e. 18 1/2 Rd. There's some logic to this though, as they're named for distance they are from the western border.

It might depend on location, but here I don't think you can be arrested for a DUI unless you get on the road.
