No keys to the car.. how much should it cost?

I lost keys to my 1986 Toyota. About how much do dealerships charge to make a new one? They're all closed so I can't call them.

If they can make a new one it won't be that much. Maybe a few dollars. If they have to install a new lock cylinder that will be more.

If you can get the key sequence # off the tumbler or manual they can make a key for like $10. Alternatively you can pop out your trunk lock, it will be on it as well.

Any key shop can help, btw, it doesn't have to be a dealer.

The same key worked on my '82 Celica, my girlfriend's '80 Corolla, and her dad's 84 PU. My have even worked in my Supra, I never tried it.

I busted the key to the Buick and got another set for $4 from the dealership. Vandura cost me $16 (It's also waaay older - just a bit younger than your Toyota)

i broke the top part of my Lexus key that attaches it to the keychain. Lexus told me $250...

I said FU

yep. a '96 has a unique key number and a new key can be manufactured with that number alone. 10 to 20 bucks tops.
