No Internet, but LAN access

I had to upgrade motherboards, getting an nForce4-939 from ECS (it was cheaper to get a 939 board than an AM2, which would require a new CPU and RAM). Despite repeated efforts, this bish will not see the Internet. The LAN works fine. It sees my other computer just fine, files go back and forth fine. But no Internet.

This is a home network pairing. Both connect to a Linksys 1Gbit switch, which gets a feed from Comcast cable. It was working fine in this computer a few days ago, but not now. Everything is obtained automatically, so I have always gone with the default settings. Any ideas?

Type "ipconfig" in your command prompt. Is there a gateway listed under your Local Area Connection?

No gateway. An autoconfig IP address that's not valid and a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0

May Comcast likes the MAC number of the previous computer (Motherboard).

No router?

Try unplugging the Cable modem after powering down the PC's. Wait 5 - 10 minutes power Cable modem up and then power up the PC's.
