No Internet After Uninstalling Avira Internet Security

Sorry for not replying back on this .

Actually it was the problem of external firewall. where it seems the entry was made for avira and it was blocking the ip addresses . so, we removed the bridge connection with the router and then it started working fine.
But since then , after every 30-40 mins the internet stops working . so, everytime i have to manually restart the router to fix it.
Maybe this could be an issue with my router . its a D-link DIR-655 router.
And our on call network engineer is saying that its for home purpose, and should be replaced . but dont know if its true😕

OK, glad to hear it's going better. The router question is a good one, and I would think it depends on how many connections you have. This would be a good question to throw over to the networking subforum.

That most definitely is a home router, and for security and stability purposes you should use a more robust router. You may even be able to install one of the open-source firmwares (OpenWRT, TomatoUSB, DD-WRT, etc). For now, you should make note of the settings in use, make a backup of those settings, reset the router, and manually reconfigure the router back to the desired settings. If that doesn't fix the intermittent issues, replace it.
