No internet after installing new router?

We upgraded to a new Verizon FIOS Quantum gateway router, we have 3 pc's and one tablet connecting wireless with no problems but our toshiba laptop running Vista shows as connected but not getting to the net via either chrome or IE, works fine when hard wired to the router, any ideas please?

When connected to the wireless, does the Vista laptop have a valid IP address? If not, it's probably an authentication problem (wrong wireless password or incompatible wireless encryption method).

In Vista, go to Credentials Manager and delete any entries for your previous FIOS router. You should be prompted for new credentials for the new gateway.

Yes connect wired and then update the network drivers. The credentials manager is located in the Control panel although I'm a bit doubtful that it has any credentials for your router. I haven't seen any credentials stored for it for several routers that I've used but it's worth a look.

I updated the Atheros wireless adapter driver in the Device Manager work now, thanks a million!

I had the same problem with a relative's rev I FIOS ActionTec that had new firmware pushed, it stopped working with a Vista laptop with the new firmware. The solution was the same as you found, updating the wifi driver.
