no hot water in the house

last nite we didnt have hot water for some reason, only cold.. then earlier today our water got shut off cuz the construction nearby hit a water pipe or something.. but now we got water back but it's only cold water... do u think this has anything to do w/ the water that's coming into the house? or would it only be a water heater problem, cuz we checked it and it's not making any sounds at all or warm at all so we dont think it's on?

Get somebody over there that knows what they are doing..call the utility co. Don't do down there lighting matches..if you have a gas leak the next construction project may be at your joint..
