Usually there's a big hoopla for the game every year but I don't see any of it. Has anyone played the multiplayer demo or test?

I have seen quite a few advertisements for it. Mostly during football (because that is pretty much the only TV I watch).

Modern Warfare 2 put me off Call of Duty permanently. Ghosts may be the best game ever made and I'll never know because I have an irrational hatred of everything branded CoD. Yes, I'm willing to admit that hatred is completely irrational; doesn't matter. Never playing one again.

That said, the people I do know who buy annual CoD installments haven't been talking much about Ghosts. It'll probably still sell like hotcakes, but it doesn't seem to have the word of mouth that BLOPS2 was getting.

Yeah, then maybe we can get back to cookie cutter big eyed eveb bigger breasted JRPG characters.

Those and the spastic Dragonball/Naruto type JRPGs need to go too.

Also show me cookie cutter from FF12 to FF13. Two entirely diff games save for the title.

Well, they both sucked, if that counts for anything. :p

Though to be fair, 12 sucked far less. 13 though was an abomination.

That's a problem with big studio RPGs: They become too Michael Bay-ish, forgetting what makes RPGs worth playing in the first place, story and characters.

I now only actually excited and/or get my hopes up from more mid-range or smaller companies like Atlus announces an RPG. Everything from SquareEnix is basically "Cutscenes in a hallway. A damn gorgeous hallway!"

Hard for me to judge as most the people I hang out with don't game anymore, but it seems like more people are getting tired of it. With the annual releases and the delayed release of DLC, I think a lot of people are starting to get fed up.

The usual annual hyper for CoD titles has slowed down, there's very little to be said about Ghosts, hell even over at Steam nobody is really talking about it and it isn't very high on the pre-orders list either. I stopped back in Black Ops (fell for the "dedicated servers are back!" hype), no more for me and I've played CoD since the very first one. Activision are just after the stupid ones now.

bunch of guys i work with used to all play CoD together. Started in modern Warfare and we played a bunch. Died down as they released the map packs and crap and finding games took longer. Played a bit of Black Ops but honestly it just felt like the same game with minor tweeks. Then with more map packs to buy jut lost interest. The games just felt to similar so why spend tons of money. Same if i buy the original game i dont want to be forced to buy map packs to keep playing either And i know plenty of people who feel that way. That its just the same game over and over with minor things changed.

I don't remember real hype or buzz about COD besides the negative stuff. It has always been a bunch of "omg COD sucks" posts or people boycotting for no dedicated servers (who 99% of bought the game anyway).

Ghosts will come out and do just fine. The haters will hate it, millions will buy and play it, the world will continue to turn, exdeath will have to settle for preteen focused JRGPs with awful English voice acting that nobody will buy.

Because they would have to start exploring and possibly being creative instead of copy pasting the same 3 "safe" games while buying up the competition and stifling innovation in the name of exploiting big franchises (Bobby Koticks own words even)

advocating a business strategy focused on only developing intellectual property which can be, in his words, "exploited" over a long period, to the exclusion of new titles

This is bad for gaming regardless what you play.

I was burned out on the series after mw2, the multiplayer is way too busy for my tastes with all this perk silliness.

Good thing you didn't stick it out for MW3 when they introduced specialist perks which allow you to get every perk in the game. Makes MOABs easy.

The game has been a frustrating technical mess since MW2 (which sucked itself due to ridiculous perks and killstreaks) and I think everyone's gotten tired of it.

All my friends are getting it though, so I might get it just to play with them because it's the only game we play together.

IW really jumped the shark with MW2. It just turned into a game of dice/camping.

I really like Treyarch's brand of of COD though. Loved Black Ops and Black Ops 2. Hated MW3 but not as much as I hated MW2.

I'll get Ghosts for no other reason than it's something to play on the PS4.
