I need an extreme cooling system, but it's not for a PC. It's for an x-ray source. I figured overclockers would have the best idea what i could use for it. One thing though, water cooling is out! I thought it was a good idea but the big cheese says nay. To bad for him... I was thinking peltiers attached to a brass plate that had a row of heatsinks on top of it. The plate will be about 3 inches by 4 inches or even larger if need be so there will be alot of heatsinks strapped to this... These sources can produce over 70watts of heat. Another thing, this system will need fans with almost NO vibration. Because this piece of equipment will make a very fine spot of x-rays any vibration makes that spot move, bad stuff. So i was thinking that the whisper fans would work if they were attached to the system with a dampening thing. The cooling doesn't have to be uniform and the price tag can be around $500 so any suggestions no matter how obscene are worth a try.
