No heat! Argh

No, not a repost to my other thread about the pilot light being out. It was out but I relit it thanks to your help.

We thought we'd wait a little while to see if the heat would kick in, but no luck.

1. Brand new build
2. Gas head - baseboard heating
3. Thermostat set on 80 degrees
4. Stove (gas) works
5. No adjusters/valves on any of the baseboard heaters

Wife is on the phone with national grid now, we'll be signg up for their insurane now, I guess.

Is thermostat wiring working correctly? Check for amperage (not voltage) on the two wires at the thermostat. If there's something, give it a few secs then let go, then try to hook them together for a while, and see if the heat comes back on (give it some time). Avoid rapid on/off cycles, it's not good on the furnace. This will rule out the thermostat itself being faulty. If none of this works try the same thing but right at the furnace. May need to open the panel, which may activate a safety switch, locate this switch so you can press it for testing.

I'm no HVAC pro... so maybe I'm totally wrong here but seems like a good troubleshooting start, not knowing more details.

If none of the basic troubleshooting gets anywhere I'd just get someone out to check it.

Hot water heat? Is the system drained or have air in the radiators preventing hot water entry?

Ummmm, after you relit the pilot light, did you hit the reset button?
