Is it possible or probable for the HDMI output to go out on a graphics card. I run mine into a TV and the VGA output works fine but the HDMI quit...... That seems strange but wanted to check before I replace the card.
Thanks,
Jimi

Its certainly possible, but its pretty unlikely. Those plugs are well attached to the board and to damage that without other damage would be tricky. You definitely know what action you took to make it happen. Its very rare indeed for card to work and then stop but only on one output port.

I am guessing this is quite an old card and hence replacing rather than RMAing. In which case you might for relatively moderate money get a dramatically faster one, otherwise its worth having a firm confirm (or otherwise) the fault and potentially send you a replacement. That is unless you suspect you physically damaged it, then it would be quite dishonest to do so and should purchase a replacement.

Thanks for the reply.... Here's exactly what I did but it doesn't make sense to me......

I had the computer running on HDMI to my TV fine for a couple years. I added an eSATA card to an empty slot. After some problems the card loaded fine but the HDMI output did not work. I took the computer to a local guy and explained everything and a week later when i picked it up he told me the thing works fine on VGA..... even after I told him it was an HDMI problem. No more using him. There was an error message on startup which I don't remember but I read somewhere that even though there are 4 slots on the MB the BIOS only supports 3. How knows???? Anyway..... I have since reformatted the computer and reset the BIOS and the HDMI will not work..... plus I pulled out the sATA card.

I don't want to purchase a new graphics card and try it but that may be my only choice....
Thanks,
Jimi
