Coming from a Phenom II, i'm tempted to pull the trigger on Ivy Bridge now. There's no telling if the architecture will have some bugs that pushes it's usability back to a little bit later.

This is actually not bad for me. This will give my wallet a chance to recharge.

If the delay is actually true, then you have a point. I will always wait about 2 months (If I can stand it) before jumping on a new platform. I got burned with the initial sandy board bug and had to rip my new rig apart and replace the board. That **sucked**.

This is actually not bad for me. This will give my wallet a chance to recharge.

From your perspective, and mine as well, i'd have to agree in principle. But in reality I am always itching for more performance and would like to at least see Haswell come much sooner so i could enjoy a nice cup of coffee over various benchmark reviews before buying myself.

Not surprised and glad I took advantage of the nearby Microcenter a few months back.
Cheapo 2700K and Asrock board should last me awhile, at least until Z87 chipset boards mature a bit and get a couple of revs (to iron out the inevitable teething issues )under their belt.

More concerned with GPU release cycles at the moment.
Really want to replace the GTX570 but I prefer to skip generations with upgrade cycles

Well, at least AMD Sea Islands will likely be released beforehand so I won't have to stagger the GPU and CPU purchases on a new build.

True, also the new Geforce cards should be out by then. I love complete upgrades. Its nice to shatter old benchmarks with a whole new upgrade. It makes for one hell of a nice new toy to play with.

I really don't care if it is released in july . But I would very much like to see another graph from intel that looks like what VR-zone presented as proof of intels roadmaps . I have never seen one like the one VR-zone gave as proof. I been tring to stay out of this section as I find it boring with all the kids fighting over this or that . AMD vs. INTEL was interesting but that time is gone . ARM vs intel is a completely a fiction story. Yep Arm works good in small devices . But now that intel finally got the monkey off its back the low power market will come to intel . The next atom should be interesting.
One other thing . INTEL margins. I have never seen so many closed minds in place in my life. Intel fabs its own chips and they also design their own processors. 60% margins for intel isn't the same as Margines NV or anyother none fab chipmakers wants other than Apple. Intel 60% look more correctly to me like 30% margins for the fab and 30% margins for the design segment . So this constant Intel charges to much is laughable. Best thing intel could do Is break itself up . Fab business and Design house Would be great . Intel would still make sure it has the fab space it requires. At the same time intels fabs would have everyone knocking at the door. Intel as it is now today is a poor business model . But with the LOL 60% margines they seem content
