no graphics after cpu swap

i have a gigabyte ga-7vrx mobo that was running perfectly fine on an athlon xp 1800. i swapped out the 1800 for a 2200, and now my graphics dont work. the 2200 is compatible with my mobo, clear cmos didnt help, everything turns on like normal. i dont hear a post beep and dont know if that is good or bad. please help.

Put the original CPU back in. If it still works, then the 2200 is DOA.
