Dear Andrew Norton,

Thank you for placing your recent order with the Gateway Accessory Store.

item has been removed from our inventory list and cancelled from your order
#xxxxxxxxx. This item is no longer available from the manufacturer and
will not be listed on our site in the future.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and look forward
to serving you again. Our site has a full compliment of products. Return

I don't get why Gateway can't honor the orders when the cards come in stock, instead of cancelling all the orders altogether

The reason that they are cancelling the orders is because they dont want you to have it for such a good price. They could give you your order after they get more stock, but just cancelling the order altogether saves them some time and some money.

I originally thought they couldn't obtain the two or more thousand that had been ordered from their supplier/visiontek. It appears there aren't a lot of GF4's to go around being as there aren't many on shelves and online dealers keep going oos.

But with all the other order cancelations and wierd things going on, I'm not sure what to think. I have a hard time believing that Gateway couldn't get their hands on a couple hundred P4 1.6a's. :|

I guess I still think they had way too many orders for them to fill even if they took 2-3 months. Just a faulty inventory system that didn't put a limit on preorders. But that doesn't explain all the other cancelations so maybe the more paranoid/sinister theories have some truth to them. Anyway it goes it does suck if you aren't getting your card. :( Glad I went with the GF3 ti200 deal. ;)

Well yeah, of course its cheaper that way. But as far as saving face, they could have honored some of the prices

God damn cheap bastards. If I can't waste my hard earned money on ultra-hyped graphics cards, then what the hell can I can do?

A real disappointment.:disgust:

If you head over to the Hot Deals forums, you'll see a thread regarding this topic.

You can now call Gateway up and request that they reinstate the order, which they will, no questions asked.

Of course, they aren't giving any kind of ship dates, so you may be waiting till April or longer.
