Blocked from testifying on Government handling of the pandemic.
Most likely due to the possibility that he will truthfully provide answers everyone already knows.

The White House has blocked key Trump administration health official Dr. Anthony Fauci from testifying at a House hearing on the U.S. coronavirus response next week.

The House Appropriations Committee’s subcommittee on the Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies wanted Fauci, who has emerged as one of the most trusted voices on the virus, to appear at a Wednesday morning hearing on how the government has handled the pandemic. The panel was “informed by an administration official that the White House has blocked Dr. Fauci from testifying,” committee spokesman Evan Hollander said in a statement.

White House spokesman Judd Deere also confirmed the White House stopped the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases from appearing before the House.

Just read this like 4 minutes ago.
When they claimed it would be counter productive I knew they were full of shit.
Another thing to add to the pile of bullshit and will be immediately forgotten cuz it blends with all the other bullshit.

Probably a little too soon for the house to go this route.
ANYwho.... just another reason WE MUST get rid of Trump in November even if 80% of America does have covid 19 and have to drag themselves to the polls on their hands and knees. WOULDN'T THAT BE NICE !!!! (to get rid of Trump, that is)

Just call the white house's bluff already. We all know their arguments are bullshit. Can't even hide behind executive privilege of national security this time.

edit: apparently he will be testifying a republican-chaired senate committee. will the seated democrats (if there are any) get ample time to ask real questions? hmmm

Unless the question is Dr Fauci could you please tell us how amazing the President has been during this crisis? I'm sure they will get the gavel until they back down.

actually,. Fauci could ignore what the WH wants and testify and then dare Trump to fire him.....
Or would Trump resort to having fauci arrested or detained or intercepted right before he was top testify??
This all reeks of NAZI Germany..

You would only ever block testimony if what he had to say makes you look bad, thus it can be implied Trump admin would look bad, shocking I know.

Which is weird cuz if you look at the last 4 years anytime he "looks bad" it doesnt matter.
He just blames Obama, his zealots eat it up, and nothing happens to him. In fact he usually gains at least one vocal nutjob every time something happens the rest of us would label as "scandal".

I heard he'll be allowed to go to the Senate, but not the House. Likely because McConnel will keep things safe and that wouldn't be the case in the House.

Again with keeping the facts and truths about this pandemic from the people.

Gee whiz willikers, I wonder why Repubs do this as SOP while the Dems have no problem wanting the public to know as much as possible about it as well as everything else the Repubs are hiding from us.

It's almost like the people want to see Trump's tax papers or his love letters to Putin fer cry'in out loud.

No wonder this Administration fears oversight—they might actually have to walk back their shitty policies if exposed!!!

FDA reverses policy that let over 100 antibody tests on market without review

The agency says it is aware that some firms are promoting faulty tests.
...
The FDA's decision to put into place stricter rules for antibody tests follows a congressional investigation launched by Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-Ill.), chairman of the House Oversight Economic and Consumer Policy Subcommittee. The FDA’s former policy allowed companies to validate their own tests and bring them to market without an agency review, if they included a disclaimer with test results.

Gives me the willies how fast people want a vaccine on the market. I completely understand, and I will not be doing much in public until there is one, but, I fear there is a big rush to cut corners.

I understand where the desire to cut corners is coming from, given the current situation, but now is not the time to throw rigorous scientifically sound trials out the window in the name of expediency.

I have faith the bigger companies (Merck, Roche, sanofi) will not let the quality slip due to their own internal quality systems, but maybe I'm being optimistic.

Got'ta hand it to the conservative juggernaut, when it gets slapped on the head and spit in its face, they come out in unison swinging the heavy sticky stuff.

Only problem is, they have only one corporate trained eye to see out of, a religion they've been playing for suckers and a viper's forked tongue to speak the double speak they speak so well.

Might work for now, but it sure seems like this scam they've been running is playing itself out, with Trump being the maestro playing the opening measures of a dirge the party will be hearing more often than not.

Trump is after all, the perfect example of every dirty, unethical, immoral. blasphemous thing the Repubs have been using to gain political advantage over what has emerged as the Democrat opposition party that has grown larger than they can fairly compete with.
