No fan speed readings

Antec Sonata Rear 120mm fan

I don't know if it's really that big of a deal, but my BIOS isn't getting any readings from the case fan. It's definitely spinning alright and I have the "PSU Fan Monitor Connector" plugged into the chassis fan slot on my motherboard. Is there something else I should be doing? Thanks.

The pSU fan speed monitor is for the actual power supply fan. TO get readings on the rear fan, hook it up directly to your motherboard. You will need a little converter for this, my antec case fans only had regular molex connectors, not the special mini ones for connecting to the mobo.

You can make your own, however 120mm fans that aren't 3pin usually are that way because they draw too much current for use on mobo headers...your best bet (imo) would be to get a 120mm fan that has the 3pin tail already if you really want to monitor fan speed.

edit: you could get something like this to use that would automatically slow down when temps are getting high, and run slower (quieter) when temps are low. (that was an example, there are better fans than that vantec fan for sure.
