No eBay links in Hot Deals

As the person in charge of an enterprise eBay account for my company, I'm curious why eBay links are not allowed. I checked the rules in that section and it says nothing about it. I see threads locked because of eBay links but haven't seen the reason for it.

I can see if it's an auction style listing but I honestly do not see the difference between a BIN eBay listing and a 3P Amazon listing.

How would that be different than Amazon though? It takes 0 effort to list on there as well, especially if the item is already on their site.

D:

was not aware of that.

Go to most any item listing and look for the button next to the text that says "Have one to sell?". If you have an amazon account and you are approved to sell in that category, it's easy to throw your hat in the mix.

Winning the buy box is another story. The most important factor is to be the one selling for the lowest price, however.

it's in the rules for hot deals:

No links to auction sites. We do not consider auctions to be Hot Deals. Posting a link to your own auction offer may be reason to lock your account.
