no EAX?

why would my Hercules Gametheater XP show up as the 7.1 when it's a 6.1 and lose it's EAX functionality? Are the new drivers incompatable with the older GameTheater?

Because the new drivers enable 7.1 (all the GTXP are basically the same thing).

What do you mean by losing EAX? What game?

all games have no EAX. I cannot hear what's going on behind me in any game where I used to be able to hear it. My speakers work fine as music is still comming from all 4 speakers

Don't know, it works for me with the latest drivers. Make sure 3D Audio Acceleration is set to Max in the GTXP control panel ("Other" tab).

EAX doesn't do 3d posiitioning it does sound effects(echo, etc).
