Greetings,
I received one of the ViewSonic VP930b's today that I ordered. These are replacing two old CRT's and also allowing easier switching between my pc and mac.
I cannot seem to get the DVI connect to work with the 930b. I have tried several things and in the end I can verify the DVI connection from the monitor works because it functions on my mac beautifully. When I use a DVI_VGA connector out of my pc and hook that to a VGA on the 930b I get a signal. So the display does not seem to be a problem.
Figuring it is a driver/hardware issue I updated my card drivers (GeForce FX 5200 which has one DVI and one VGA) which did not seem to help. One thought I have is I see 4 displays listed in device manager. Two "default" and then the two actual displays I am using (MultiSync95 and ViewSonic VP930 series). When I removed those Default listing and restart they appear again. I'm not sure this has anything to do with the problem, just something I noticed.
Otherwise the nVidia software shows my two displays and knows the 930b is a flat panel.
Also worth noting is in the setting, the resolution bar does not stop at 1280x1024, which is the max for the 930b, which leads me to believe something is a miss. I've tired everything I can think of mutilpe times.
Any suggestions?
