I have Sony CRX175 CD-RW & an ASUS E616 DVD. Both units will play music CD's perfectly. My problem is that when I play a DVD in the ASUS I don't get any audio at all. I've looked at all the settings and nothing jumps out as being incorrect.

I have a SOYO Dragon+ m-board and I'm using the C-media onbord sound; the CD-RW & DVD share a Y audio cable to the CD connection on the m-board; AND I have a digital cable running from the DVD to the m-board's SPDIF connection. I've used 3 different media players, all with the same results...great picture, no sound.

Has anyone else encountered this? Thanks all for your help.

i dont know if this helps so

dvd what sound settings if in digital is digital sound wire(seperate from audio on back of drive)hooked up to mobo?

in dvd program try setting the sound to a different option ie 5.1 to stereo

in sound control (which os?)make sure to check all the boxes to enable all outputs as mine is in aux on one computer and line in on the other under sound settings/properties make sure they are turned all the way up too;)

these are the most common if it doesn't help sorry

hope this helps
