I posted this at the O/S forum the other day but I got no replies so I thought I'd try my luck here. Does anyone know of a set of drivers (or file combination) for Voodoo5 that works under WinXP? I've tried about 6 different ones and none of them work. :(

This sounds very disturbing for us Voodoo5 owners; especially since 3dfx is dead and will not be producing any more drivers.

Heh I'm sorry to say I doubt you'll find anything terribly useful since 3dfx was even late with their Win2K drivers (which were barely supported).

TheOddBall - Well thanks for your opinion! You sure helped this guy with his problem.

As for the problem, I have a friend who is having the same problem; I will let you know if he gets anywhere.

Thanx for your replies guys. I'm afraid I've already tried the omega drivers without any success. There is a roumor that this company will be producing new (from the ground up) drivers for Voodoo cards that they will be charging $32 for them.

However on an interview they were asked about HSR and they didn't know what that was ... so it could be all bs. :(

Burn please keep me posted. If you make any progress please PM me or e-mail me. :)

TheOddball I don't remember asking your opinion on WinXP. If you have nothing to add to this thread please don't try to increase your post count in such a lame way.

I don't care if you wanted it, you got it anyway, and I could care less about post count, only the forum addicted Senior and Diamond members like yourself are concerned with that it seems.

Obviously you are of limited intelligence. I don't care what you think so don't tell me. When I make a thread I expect it to be in the content I want as long as that is within the rules. If you have a statement to make then do so in a thread of your own, which btw will be on page 9 in 30 minutes time.

I installed WinXP on my system that has a V5 and it seemed to work great with the drivers that got installed with the OS. I was able to get nice resolutions and refresh rates, but I did not have time to run any games. So what is the exact problem? Is your video stuck in VGA mode?

Pauli the WinXP V5 driver works fine with 2D (desktop) but doesn't work in 3D. None of the APIs (OpenGL, D3D, Glide) are supported. Try a game and you will see what I mean.

loosbrew I wish it was the same with V5. :(

There is a rumor that the drivers work fine, it's the 3dfx tools that doesn't work. Now how you install the drivers without 3dfx tools is a question I can't answer.

The tools work fine. All you have to do is install the drivers first and then the tools, don't try to install the drivers through the 3dfx tools installation.
