Has anyone noticed a difference between Nodoz and Vivarin? They're both 200mg of caffeine, but does one absorb quicker in the body than the other? Does secondary chemistry play a role here?

Light-weight wallet FTL!!!!1111 At $0.75 each, I might as well take a higher quantity of ephedra and caffeine pills.

I know, I'm odd. But when I was driving home from CA the Percocet I was taking did more to keep me awake than anything else.

Percacet is a substitute for oxycodine, if Im correct. I was given some percacet when I had some head pain a few months ago.

In my experience, no-doz were more pleasant than vivarin. The no-doz had a smoother release profile, from what I could tell. They took a little longer to kick in; but there was less of the "spike and crash" effect. Vivarin hit faster; but sometimes spiked too far in the direction of jittery and tended to wear off more quickly than I would have liked.

If you are really tired the two can be combined to good effect. A vivarin first, then a no-doz about 15 minutes after you feel the vivarin taking effect. This will perk you up pretty quickly; but the energy will last a bit longer. You may want to consider combining this with some pepto-bismol pills and wash it down with milk. Those things can unsettle the stomach if you take too many.

Excedrin works well... never taking vivarin or Nodoz.
The big E also has 200mg of caffeine

I think I'd prefer my caffeine going down my throat rather than up my nose(though that's one hell of a pick-me-up).

i don't think u want too quick a kick, caffeine bites you in the ass when you take too much too quick(nausea jitters palpitations etc), and then that defeats the whole purpose. better to sip coffee.

my favoite method was to quickly down 4 doubleshots of home-brewed espresso. mmm, not the greatest taste in the world, but provided the largest caffeine high's I ever had. whew was I bouncing around, unable to sit still, constantly happy, and hell.. i had a general euphoria too.
caffeine's fun. :)
I even had caffeinated mints, that with 12 in a tin, each one had 100mg of caffeine in them. a few times I would have the 4 doubleshots, as well as a few mints. the crash was hardcore though, and the low after massive caffeine is sickening, sometimes worse than an alcohol hangover.
i haven't quite figured it out. my consumption could have been anywhere from around 500mg (coffee plus pills) to 1100mg of caffeine, depending on the potency of caffeine in espresso. i have read anywhere from around 60mg in a doubleshot, to 60mg in a single shot, to 100mg in a single shot. not really sure.

although one should be careful. 1g of instant caffeine intake (say, from pure caffeine), can land people in the hospital, a few grams of regular intake can do the same thing, and anywhere from 5-15g can kill a person, depending on body weight.

I've been taking these generic ones called Stay Awake... 200mg.

These are crazy, the pills will start dissolving in your mouth(which is disgusting, btw) if you aren't ready with water.

I like them for that reason.

I recently had to pick up some Vivarin because they were out of the normal ones. I don't like them as much.. the pills take longer to dissolve.

It's probably because of the way that I take them though. I take them when I'm just too tired at work, so I want a quick up. They seem to last 4 hours or so, and don't make me jittery.

The vivarin.. I barely noticed it because it took so long to work. It may have lasted longer than 4 hours, though.. didn't pay attention by that point.

Haven't tried no-doz yet.
