i have an ENMIC 8TCX2+ ..... http://www.enmic.de/www/uk/index2.htm uses Via KT266A its very fast AMD 1.4Ghz C 987/948 with Sandra..... never heard of the board before....never read any review...sombody tell me who is ENMIC

My problem is..... installed XP Pro ...went smoothly all drivers where present at booth up.... but then i wondered if i have DMA... then there is no tab for DMA control under -Primary Channel- only General, Driver, Resources- tabs are present. So installed the new XP Via IDE drivers.......now i have SCSI drives....which i dont have...and still no option for DMA?

any suggestions

The drivers appearing as SCSI is normal, it's a little hack the driver writers use to get the drivers to work the way they want. IDE was hacked into NT because it was originally written to use SCSI natively and I believe a lot of things are just easier with SCSI drivers.

As for DMA I don't know, I have all SCSI drives and havn't had to worry about that =)

ok then, i discovered that my HDD is actually running at UDMA 100 with DMA, but now my DVD (Toshiba 1502) is only running "MultiWord DMA Mode 2"..... btw what is 'multi word' how slow is it compared to UDMA 33.....since my DVD should be at UDMA 33
