I built this pc a few years go and it's run flawless until now. I have a Dell 2005FPW that likes to go into power saver mode, always fixed by unplugging the monitor and resetting the PSU. a few months ago my 8800GTS 640mb failed, so I swapped in a spare 7600GT as temporary fix. A few days go my monitor went into power save mode and I was unable to fix it. I opened the pc and saw that the 7600 was slightly unseated and when I took it out saw some blown caps. I ordered a GTX460 and just installed it, everything spins up properly but I don't get a video signal on my monitor or on my Bravia. I'm wondering if the unseated 7600GT left me with a bad PCI - Ex slot? Any advice is very appreciated!

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 Allendale 1.8GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 (rev. 3.3)
GPU: EVGA GTX460 768MB
PSU: Enhance ENP-5150GH 500W
Memory: 4GB GSkill DDR2
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit

*Update*

CPU fan is not spinning on startup. It jumps every few seconds but won't run, also there's no power to a keyboard I plugged into the I/O port. When I switch on the power supply the keyboard lights flash but when I power on the pc there are no lights. Both system fans are runnings well as the GPU fan.

Did you check all the caps on your Mobo also? Sound like you may have deeper problems then just the GPU

As far as know all my drivers are up to date. We just got internet after going without for a year and the 1st thing I did was update everything I could think would need updating. I looked at the mobo and I don't see any bad caps, everything looks pristine save for a little dust.

Just swapped the GPU over into a micro atx i keep and everything is running fine except the keyboard is still initially lighting up but then not working and the monitor is still in power save.

Just to be clear you swapped the GPU into another pc? along with the same keyboard? And you downloaded the Vista 64bit driver for the GTX 460 from the nvidia website? The cd included with the new GPU might not include the driver for the older OS. Also I would swap out another keyboard if you have one available.

Posting from an old laptop and now a tablet pc so I haven't been able to download new video card drivers yet, I'll try hauling my pc to someone's house with a working monitor and keyboard and see what happens. Thanks I really do appreciate the help.:)
