Hi

My secondary rig suddenly won't display any image. It reports one long and two short beeps at boot which should be a video problem. This started happening right ouf of the blue. It has been stable for a very long time with absolutely no hardware related issues.

Its specs are as follows:

Antec Truepower 550W PSU
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
Asus 6600GT
2x Corsair PC3200 512MB RAM Dual Channel
200GB PATA Seagate HD
Viewsonic VP930

Running Ubuntu Feisty Fawn 7.04

I have tried both the video card and the monitor on my main rig and they both work fine. The RAM was tested one stick at a time in different slots with no change in the error code.
Sadly I don't have another video card that I can use for testing.

Most of the parts are about 2½ years old with the PSU being ~5 years old.

The system boots fine, I just can't see what's going on

There isn't.

However, I was able to fix the problem by moving the video card to the second PCIe slot. But now the WARN_LED is glowing red on the mobo because I haven't plugged power into the EZ_PLUG which is used for SLI.

Nothing to worry about if it works, right?
