I just ordered a new system and put it together today. When i turn it on, everything turns on properly, but i cant see anything on the monitor or here my computer beep after POSTing. The Processor Fan is running, Graphics card is connected properly and its fan is running. The system doesnt shut off, it is running consistently, but i see nothing on the display and no sounds from my PC Case Speaker. My system is:
AMD Athlon64 3400+ Newcastle
Asus K8N mobo
1gb Mushkin DDR400
WD 160gb
Chiefmax 450w PSU
ATi Radeon x800xt AIW
Any ideas?
thanks

Did you try the usual stuff that's suggested in threads with problems like this yet?

(Clear cmos, reseat parts, check connections, etc)

I cleared CMOS, Reseated Graphics Card, Tried all different combinations of memory placement, replugged all power connections, and so far still the same result.

I disconnected everything from the motherboard, leaving only one stick of ram, the processor/hsf, and tried to boot - same result.
I added the Vid Card into that mix and tried to boot - same result.
All the components are running at power up, but i am giving no video signal to my monitor and no signal to PC Case Speaker.

Yes i have the same problem also everything is on but no screen.but wen i recived the mobo it had the bios chip half way out not fully in so i think somthing wne rong when the ppl at MSi my motherboard brand name improperl flashed the bios. but i am going to try to rest cmos if that dosent work i am RMAing my mobo

I see no physical problems on my motherboard. everything looks and seems right, doesnt make sense to me.

Things can look fine and still be wrong. Computer components have a lot going on that isn't visible to the naked eye.

You can try taking components out of your case and running the bare essentials on your motherboard while it's on a cardboard box to rule out the case shorting something out.

After firmly reconnecting a single stick of RAM, when powering on my PC, my monitor flickers as if it is going to display the POST screen, but then after a second it goes back to normal "No Signal available." Which is a slight difference from the usual No reaction by the monitor. Does this mean anything?

I attempted to use DDR sticks from a working system with the same result as above.
However in the Asus user manual something caught my eye: In section 1-16, #2, There are sets of jumpers that affect the "USB device wake-up." "Set these jumpers to +5V to wake up the computer from S! sleep mode (CPU stopped, DRAM refreshed, system running in low power mode) using the connected USB devices. Set to +5VSB to wake up from S3 and S4 sleep modes (no power to CPU, DRAM in slow refresh, power supply in reduced power mode). And then there is a diagram showing the different jumper settings. Should changing these have an affect?

The boot problem has been solved - my Asus K8N was incomnpatible with my Mushkin Memory. However it is currently working under 2 sticks of Rosewill.
However, now that i have windows xp pro sp2 installed, my visual effects are lagging big time. Every time i scroll down a page, of click on the start menu, i get very noticeable lag. Now, my system specs are:
Windows XP PRo SP2
AMD Athlon64 3400+
Asus K8n
Rosewill 2x512mb PC3200
Radeon x800xt AIW

I dont htink my system should have trouble running the basic windows OS. I am running catalyst 5.8 drivers for my video card and have a ll chipset drivers and current windows updates.

usually this type of problem is due to a bad power supply... I would test from now on without your hard disks connected. same if you test it in another computer, which you could do and you'd get the same result, fans spinning, no boot, etc.
