No display after removing graphics card

I was using a cheapy ATi card from a mate till Geforce arrives and he said needed it back, so I went to Device Manager and removed the ATi display adapter. Then shutdown and removed it.
I have now got another card from mate to borrow because Geforce not arriving till after Xmas but I cannot get any display. Nothing atall happens.

Tried different slots.

Do you think the card is dodgy???

I can't see it being related to OS because I don't even get to that stage.
 
I don't know about "dodgy," but it sure sounds defunct. Hopefully your new GeForce will arrive. 🙂
