No direct 3d installed in XP Pro

I just discovered that Direct 3d was not installed in a XP Pro sp1 install w/DX9 either before or after the video drivers (ATI Radeon) were installed.
Aren't the direct draw drivers installed along with the DX9 package?
I normally don't use XP, but doing so now to troubleshoot another unrelated issue on the same system. The former 2k install all was fine.
Never encounterned this before.
DX Diag confirms this, the test boxes are greyed out.

Yeah, it should install it as part of direct x, but I think it's reliant on the video card drivers you've got installed. You could try reinstalling the latest and then directx over the top, or if you need it to work out of the box for a remote install etc., maybe add the new drivers to the xp image.

Slight correction, it was the direct 3d that wasn't installed. I was using a image file for conveinaqnce to troubleshoot another issue, I guess it might of got corrupted somehow.
It SEEMS to be ok for now. I will have to take a closer look.
