No Digital Output on my SB Live X-Gamer

Hello, I have had a SB Live X-Gamer for a year or 2, it has been in 3 systems and works fine.
I also have had a M-Audio Delta DIO 2496 for a year or so as well.

The reason I'm still using both cards is because the Delta is the best for recording (I use a DAT for an AD/DA converter into the Delta, cause it has no analog in, just out) and the Delta has specialized ASIO drivers for this program I use called Reason. I can run very intense sound manipulation on it @ 96Khz with only a 1ms latency totally bypassing DS. were the Direct Sound drivers on either card start crackling up @ about 20ms latency @ only 44Khz...

But there are some programs where the SB is better, like movies, and games, because the Delta has some problems with some Direct Sound programs.

Well my problem is that I want to get the Optical Digital out of my SB Live to work.
I'm just gonna run an optical cord from the SB dig. out into the Delta DIO. and from there I can just run the output of both cards from the output of the Delta with the Delta software mixer..... Make sense?

I don't want to keep swithching cords depending on what I am doing.

Also,I use the SB game/MIDI port as well cause the Delta lacks this.

Well. I have tried several different times on all 3 systems and no matter what I do, I cant get digital sound out of the SBLive. I have tried the "digital output only" checkboxes in all of the Creative control panels that I have used, and nothing works.

Nothing.

I should be able to hook up the optical cord to the SB and see the red light at the end.

I have noticed 4 jumper pins directly behind the dig. out plug On the SB, maybe this has something to do with it?

any help would be greatly aprecciated......

TIA
