No Devices listed in CEP 2.1 Buning plugin- they used to be there

To my horror, I have recently discovered that the burning plugin for Cool Edit Pro 2.1 has lost my "Devices" or my CD-RW and my DVD +/- RW. I have used these many times before. Has anyone experienced this or other similar problems? Would a registry cleanup fix my problem?
