No decent, current American Football games?

It looks like the last Madden released was 2008. 2kSports has baseball and basketball.. No current football games.

Am I missing something? Or did the entire PC market not deliver a decent football game in the past 2 years?

I'm the same way...bought a ps3 specifically for MLB the show 09....(had a 360 for madden before that)

You mean goodbye slow yard-by-yard plays. There is so much more running and throwing in the Canadian game that it makes it so much better to watch as a fan. I'm sick of seeing 350-pound guys just ram at each other to try to get a yard at a time over 3 downs, before kicking on the 4th. Boring.

I still have my hopes that one day someone will create a modder friendly generic PC football game so we make it what we want it to be (NFL, NCAA, CFL, Arena, etc).

Just like the NFL license, EA Sports has bought the exclusive rights to make NCAA football games, so they don't have to face any competition.

Kind of ironic that sports games are all about competition, but EA is deathly afraid of competition in football games.

It just changes the game around, it's not strictly 'easier for the defence'.

The game is really a lot different, and when the talent was even slightly comparable (up to the early '90s' I would say it was more exciting.

There's so little real talent in the Canadian League now....

It is Half Time in the championship game RIGHT NOW though.

And the score is 11-8 with no 2-point conversions

I know it sucks EA bought up the licensing,but IIRC it was the NFL themselves that put the licensing up for bid. What was EA supposed to do? NOT get exclusive rights?

having played both Canadian rules and American rules, i'll take NFL rules any day over CFL...
