Abbas: No Force Against Arab Militants

"The (Palestinian) militants said Sunday's shootings, including a rare joint attack by three militias on an army outpost in Gaza, are meant to underscore their determination to derail the peace plan. Four soldiers were killed in the Gaza attack, and a fifth in an ambush in the West Bank city of Hebron later Sunday"

So far the Israeli settlers have just talked about their problems with the peace plan. The Palestinian terrorist groups are doing something about showing their feelings for peace.

The thing is that we can go back before this and see the Israelis shooting the Palestinians and before that the Palestinians shooting the Israelis. As far as I can see, neither side wants peace. No, Palestine wants it by the extinction of Israel, and Israel by the subjugation of the Palestinians. Both sides have blood on their hands, and until (if ever) both sides come to grips with this, there can be a whole Atlas for Peace, and it matters not. Sharon will go saying one thing, and doing another, and so will the Palestinians. It's really a sad thing.

Militants and settlers are going to screw it up for everyone else. They put their own selfish needs before everything else. The militants would fight Israel to the bitter end justifying Israel attacks on refugee camps and the settlers would rather see suicide bombings in Israeli cities rather than give up their little huts on land that they aren't supposed to be living on.

Israel and Sharon are making the moves required of them to meet the goals of the peace plan.

The Palestinians and the militant groups are not.

We will see. Both sides have a long way to go. I fear this "roadmap" will go the way of Camp David.

America should help the Palestinians set up a powerful and self disciplined state with full employment schools and all the essentials of live including well trained police and counter-terrorism mechanisms. Then they will be able to perform as requested.

Give them a massive army with nuclear weapons and the suicide bombings will stop.

What will work is to employ Mountbatten's solution with Nehru and Ghandi and relocate folks. Decide who gets what land and cause it to happen. It worked in India it will work there. Cut Israel in two or whatever makes sense and get with it.
The big stick is we regard an attack on Israel by anyone as an attack on the US and we will be back. No one needs guns or bombs... everyone has what they need... not what they want, perhaps. It is a start.

If it does, who will be at fault?

It will be the fault of the people who do not want peace.
