There will be no co-op in Bioshock 2 which is very sad news to me. Bioshock is one of my favorite games. I also know many people who would not play it with out at least co-op. I have played the original 13 times and after that it starts to get old. It would have been awesome to have co-op or versus like Left 4 Dead. I will still however be the first inline for Bioshock2.

Umm to your friend's who won't play it without co-op then sucks for them that they don't play games without co-op. The first one was fine without multiplayer and this one doesn't need it as well.

I agree but co-op would have been cool if you could be a splicer or a Big Daddy

The only people that really care about co-op are console people.

Because PC gamers are nerds without real life friends to play coop with to begin with :p

Just kidding (I'm a PC gamer myself), games can be good without coop but it's always awesome to play with a friend side by side, honestly, I don't see the point in online coop, you're basically just playing with a smarter bot, coop is fun because of the social element and playing with a stranger totally detracts from it, heck, even playing online with a friend isn't that cool because you can't communicate with him much beyond text chat and maybe voice.

Bioshock is not well suited for cooperative gameplay because part of the appeal is the atmosphere but it would still be nice to have a bonus coop mode as an option just for fun, just don't shove it down my throat like with Resident Evil 5.

System Shock 2 was great with coop, better than Bioshock. It was also a PC game, so it matters to PC gamers who played System Shock 2.

Co-op for Bioshock 2 would be amazing if the story involves both players.

I don't really mind that there's no co-op. I just hope 2k Marin doesn't ruin this game.

Probably would be just a clone or random fellow who is invisible to everyone but Player 1.

Thats a bunch of horseshit. System Shock II had fucking co-op. Doom had co-op. It wasn't until Microsoft started using it as a feature to sell the xbox version of their games that suddenly "PC Gamers don't like co-op!" was claimed as the reason for screwing us out of it.

You couldn't be more wrong if you tried. One of the biggest mistakes in the pc development world is the underestimating of co-op for story. The Doom series, Quake, and System Shock 2 all had excellent Co-op, as did other FPS games from that time frame. A lot of devs have lost sight of that.

I'm more surprised to see campaign co-op in PC games then I am dismayed in not seeing them. With the rise of laptop popularity PC co-op will become more common as it's a added selling point and often can make a "meh" game quite fun. But then again the majority of console games are not co-op, so the PC co-op niche will remain small for while to come.

The devs lost more than that. Not many old-school devs around, just young scmucks looking to make $$$. Occasionally a really great game comes out that has all the good thing we are looking for, whether it be on console, PC or both. The platform is not the issue, it the consumer and the devs. If we as the consumer buy the crap the devs will make the crap. L4D is a perfect example. The game, IMO, sucks. Its "fun" in co-op, but fails as a game. And therin lies a prob. I dont feel like playing online most of the time and just want to play a game with a good story and interesting characters, not just run and jump and shoot my buddies online.

RS Vegas 2 is a good example of this. The story is ok and the graphics are decent but add in the co-op campaign and terrorist hunts and it's a blast. Same with L4D... I won't touch it on my own but get a few friends together and it becomes so freaking cool. Certain games are great without co-op but I can think of very few that would not benefit from it.
