Would make a great bumper sticker. Texas, the best state in which to catch a child rapist in the act.

Or should he just have nicely asked the rapist to remove himself from his daughters body?

The Bible is pretty clear about what should have been done in this situation. The father should have forced the rapist to marry his daughter. Oops I forgot, the only parts of the Bible that are relevant are those that Christians agree with.

Have to agree, this should be a law in any state. Gotta love Texas...all my friends who move out there never come back to the northeast. I've been there a few times and I can understand why they wouldn't.

New hampshire isnt bad, its just every other state in new england that sucks :p

Also, I find the outcome to be extremely acceptable.

Given that you are proven to be idiotic moron who can't understand basic logic, my reply is not for you. My reply for more intelligence people who can reason so that they can understand the Bible better.

The Bible has specific instructions to tell people what to do in certain situations. However, those instructions are reserved for people of that particular time and place. Therefore, it's not that Christians today selectively choose to ignore certain passages. Those passages were never meant to be applied throughout eternity. Those passages records the history of the people at that time, as well as God's instructions to them on what to do at that time.

The police, should in such cases, investigate just enough to not look like a bunch of dumbasses, if it would have turned out to be a story to cover up a murder or mansluaghter. Going as far as a grand jury on it was probably done just for that sort of reason, to make sure they did everything right by everyone, but not being allowed to be manipulated by skilled criminals, not that anyone involved wanted to charge a father acting like a parent should for a crime. If it happened with no other witnesses around, it reads like everyone did the right thing, except the guy that died.
