My cd drives are not recognized by my computer. They don't even open! The pwr connecter is in right. Also the ATA cable is in right. I am using a rounded ata cable. What is wrong with my drives??

Boot your computer without the ide cable(s) unhooked see if they will open then.

Hi, If it never worked you may have set Master/Slave and some round cables are Cable Select. If that's the case try setting CS on both drives on the cable. CS cables usually have color coded connectors and position on the cable sets which is C: and which is D: etc. Luck, Jim

If you see a blinking light but the drives still don't open, that's usually a sign of a dieing (or dead) motor.
