for me, it's a matter of flavor, sugar is syrupy, thick and annoying. the sugarfree stuff is lighter and cleaner.

Agreed... Although I'm not a fan of Mexican chocolate, most European chocolates are awesome.

And those have relatively little sugar compared to typical candy bars.

Sugar, corn syrup, etc....pretty much all is bad if you don't do anything with it. They are both simple carbs.

and yes, i've had many different kinds of very good chocolate, but i still prefer the sugar free kind. i don't like the taste of sugar. i don't like it in my soda, i don't like it in my coffee, i don't like it in my food and i don't like it in my chocolate.

i don't know WHERE in god's infinite wisdom you think you know this OPINION better than i do, but it is MY OPINION.

are you sure?? i think that Carob a chocolate substitute is a diuretic, but i don't believe the stuff i had was a carob derivative. it tasted like chocolate with a sugar substitute. if so, why would it be any more a diuretic than a diet soda?
