No boot w/ SSD

nope...the lenovo startup screen pops up for a second and then black screen. I updated the bios and still no luck. I still have to try the secure erase.

I'm sure you're doing everything right, but just to cover the bases when you boot have you tried rapidly pressing the F1 button until it enters the bios? I tend to need to do that with my T420 because if I wait for the visual prompt it sometimes doesn't work and goes to boot the drive. Also, F12 will bring up the Boot Menu if you want to go that route.

Anyways, I'm sure you already know this stuff but I'm just throwing it out there.
 
Ok, so I threw in an intel 180 520 SDD just so I know I wasn't losing my mind...the thing booted up on the first try, OS installed and all updates/drivers installed within an hour...I think it's a firmware issue.
