no boot up

i have a gigabyte motherboard with an athlon xp1800 cpu. which is reporting the cpu as an 1150 it will boot up if you keep resetting the cmos but if you save the new bios settings it will not boot up you have to reset the cmos to reeboot it does this continually anybody any ideas? thanks

i had the same problem until with my msi mobo and my athlon xp 1700+ until i found that u must change the fsb clock manually(e.g. 100 to 133)
it is not auto detect

problem is i tried changing the jumper setting to 133 and the problem is worse it will not even boot to bios setup util
