After storing my computer in a storage room for 7 months where it could have been exposed to cold temperatures it will not boot up...or display video anyway. It comes on, the fans work, I get led lights on my DVD drives, but no video. I dont have a speaker to listen for post beeps either. I know the monitor is good. I tried clearing CMOS and using two other video cards also. I normally use an ATI AIW PCI card and the two other cards I tried are NVIDIA AGP cards so Im not sure if they would work anyhow with ATI drivers. I can hear the hard drives spinning. Could my battery be dead and if so would that mean I couldnt even see BIOS? I tried booting up to a windows CD but that didnt work. I cant turn on the caps lock or number lock on the keyboard after it comes on either. I dont have a floppy drive to try either. Any ideas before I try buying a new hard drive and new video card simply to troubleshoot the problem?

Welcome to the Forums :) First a couple of easy things to check:

1) make sure the keyboard's in the keyboard hole (purple hole = keyboard). If you get the keyboard in the mouse port, that would explain your symptoms

2) check the recessed 115-volt / 230-volt slide switch on the rear of the power supply, just in case you managed to nudge it out of position when carrying the computer, I've seen that happen and it produced your symptoms as well.

Ill check that when I get a chance...couple of new thoughts...if the hard drive is dead would that leave me unable to even display the BIOS? If it is a dead ATI PCI card wouldnt I at least be able to view BIOS even if I am using NVIDIA AGP cards?

no diskdrives shouldnt have anything to do with POSTing. It will be kinda laborious, but try reseating the CPU, tje ram and the VGA.
