No Bios screen

I just built my new computer

Amd Athlon 64 3500
Abit K8t Pro mother board (939)
eVGA 6800 Gt
1Gb Cosair Ram

When I hit the power button (I have my moniter pluged in into the 6800 Gt) I get no bios screen or anything on the moniter. All the fans are spinning, all the case lights are on, I can also feel the hd moving. Can some one please help me?

Maybe your video card isnt getting enough voltage? Ive seen peeps in the past forget to plug in the aux power connector. If that isnt it I would try a cheapie video card to test with just to see if the computer is actually posting.

I have a 420w power suply, and I thought that could have possibly been the problem. The 6800 Gt only requires a 350w. I have a dedicated line going to the video card, hooked to nothing else in the Pc. Also the fan on the card spins. Could it be the Agp slot?

who made your PSU? also try resetting your mobo's cmos too, perhaps it will decide to post then. worth a try.

I have a Raidmax 868 Mid tower with the cpu the same PSU that came with the case, 420w.

Any errors? beep codes? Maybe... is there a jumper on the board selecting anything critical?
First bet is bad board, video card or memory..lol. I know that's just baout everything huh ;-)
Disconnect the Floppy, HD, try another video card if u have one

yeah, if you have one, try a different Video Card...

and i assume you have 2x512mb RAM??
if so, then try one stick by itself...some 939 board have problems with dual channel RAM (i know mine does ) apart from that there isn't much else...

and like Jeffyboy suggested, unplug everything that is not nessesary (ie, CD Drive, Hard Drive...even Case Fans/Lights...leave the CPU fan in though) just to rule out the possiblity of it being the PSU that is the problem...

does that board have onboard Video???

if so, then take out the 6800GT and using the onboard...just for troubleshooting..

Try another video card if you have one. Also, try booting without the hard drive(s) and optical drive(s) connected. I wouldn't trust a psu that came with a raidmax case, it's probably generic. If after unplugging your drives, it does boot up, then your PSU is most likely too weak. If not, try taking out the ram, and see if you get beeps. If you do, the ram may be the problem, if not, try taking out the video card, and see if it beeps.

Make sure the motherboard is sungle succered to the case. If there are any loose screws that can case a short.

I've had older boards not boot before when they were fatory selected for 133fsb, when it shoulda been 100 for the chip I had... the result is nothing.. no booting or anything.

For sure, disconnect anything non-essential to getting a boot screen... if you have 2 sticks of ram, take one out, swap them. Try another video card. Try taking your board out and chip and reseating them. Otherwise... i'd think yer board is bad... especially if parts work elsewhere.

I had the same problem and sent my motheboard because I confirmed everything else was working. Well it turns out I had to have at least one memory module in the second memory bank.
